Almost 2 months to the day. Only reason is because of my blog. I don't really feel like filling in everything that has happened in the last 2 month simply because its all on the other site, but ill just do a quick run down for those people who will read my xanga but not my blog.
School:
- I am NOT getting honors after all. There are 2 GPA's, both need to be 3.5. Only one of mine is a 3.5, the other is a 3.3 or so.
- I signed up for 2 classes this summer but dropped them because I didn't have time to study. Truth is, I felt like I deserved a break. I've worked my ass off since last summer taking over loaded classes, I think taking 21 hours in spring and still making dean's list warranted a summer semester off.
- I have decided to drop CNET all together. It was not an easy decision for me, believe me. I could get the degree by spring but I found out that I would basically have to pass the CCNA to get the degree, which is something I don't think I can do.
- I will now be pushing forward with my bachelors in IT. I don't have many classes left, so Fall will be the heaviest load at 14, there after will be around 6 - 9, which means I can work more. If everything goes according to plan, I'll get my B.I.T. spring of 09. A year late but give me a break. Ive transfered, changed my major once, began taking classes for 2 other majors, gotten married and have worked a lot. Besides, how many people do you know that only took 4 years to graduate?
Work:
- For those that don't know, I have been doing an internship with Norfolk Southern since May 16th. I dont really like it too much. The people here are lazy and have bad work ethic. Not to mention its an hour to and from and I have to be here at 7am. The work isn't really that hard, and the pay is great.
- I return to the hub sometime in late August. I'm looking forward to it. Working at NS has made me appreciate the hub. Its easier, more laid back, co workers are easy going and fun and its like 10 minutes from me. The pay inst as good as NS, but I got a raise so I'm pretty happy.
- I CANNOT WAIT TO HAVE FRIDAYS OFF AGAINNNNN!
Personal:
- The wife and I are doing good. We both now think we will graduate the same semester and are going to start saving for a house this time next year. I think if we start saving for a house spring of 08, graduate spring of 09, we could by a house spring - summer of 2010. Seems like a long time from now, but its only 3 years. When you gotta have 20,000 for a deposit, 3 years isn't much. Waiting a year after we graduate will give up time to find jobs that can afford the mortgage.
- I will soon be an uncle. My sister is due in November and is getting married in February. Because of my growing interest in photography, I am going to be the photographer at the baby shower and the wedding, which means I need to step my game up.
- As mentioned above, my interest in photography is growing. I got a point-and-shoot this past fall and loved it, took some pretty good shots with it. I got to a point where I felt like there wasn't much more that I could do with it, so I decided to buy a new one. I ended up getting the Canon Rebel XT. I researched and heard other's comments about the camera and picked it out of a few others. I came to my senses really quick about the XTi and not needing a 10 megapixle camera. I also saved about 200 bucks, which went towards better lenses, rather than just an XTi with the kit lens. Ive had it for 3 weeks and still know theres so much more to learn about it, which is what I like, a camera I can grow into rather than learning it in 2 days. Because of work, I havent had much time to take many pictures, but hopefully that will change when I GET FRIDAYS OFF AGAINNNNN.
- Live Free or Die Hard was awesome. Transformers was awesome.
I cant remember any more movies I saw recently but they are probably mentioned on my blog. If you care to read updates more often than every 2 months, just go there.

some senior in high school was given an assignment to write something uncensored and what he wrote got him arrested. he never directly said he was going to shoot anybody, he just insulted a teacher and she couldn't handle it and he got arrested. if you read the article, two of the biggest WHAT THE FUCKS to me are
1) they searched his room and confiscated his computer. searching his room is understandable i guess, he did mention a gun in the paper, but confiscating his computer? what do they expect to find? a hit list? directions from google map to the nearest gun shop?
2)this quote "and violent images from a Super Mario Bros. video game," !!! THERE ARE VIOLENT IMAGES IN SUPER MARIO BROS???? He didn't say he was going to stomp on goombas to get their coins!
Ive never cared about politics or anything, but jesus christ. its like now you have to watch what you say about anything to anyone! i mean i understand 60 years ago when almost every white person was offending every black person with certain derogatory terms, that had to change. but this? hes in a creative writing class and he cant talk about having a dream where hes fucking dead bodies? its really becoming the future that 1984 and equilibrium warned us about. and just the same way they warned us too. "civilization is better this way" right, by arresting everybody now who says the word "gun" or "kill" in an essay they write for creative writing class really makes the world a better place. come on, if that were so, V-Tech wouldn't have happened right? Of course it WOULD HAVE! he wrote fucked up shit and then did it. figuring out that hes crazy by reading his writings before hand wouldn't have stopped him. its not like his teacher would have referred him to the schools overpaid counselor and suddenly he wouldn't have done it, he still would have done it, there would just have been a record saying that he was crazy. now this kid gets arrested because of shit he says in his paper? had it of been 3 weeks ago, nothing. funny, the kid that got arrested is Asian, I wonder why the teacher turned the essay over to the police?
this shit has gone way too far, but theres no turning back. there are those in our country who think people like this should be arrested to prevent accidents from occurring. sadly though, the people that do feel this way are either a) the ones with all the power or b) are to stupid to realize whats happening and will be the first ones to bitch when amendments 1 through 10 are revoked. pretty soon, its going to be illegal to think about stuff like this.
should we be allowed to say what ever we want? yes.
should we be allowed to offend other people? eeh, id have to say no
should we be allowed to say we are going to kill others? id also have to say no. besides you shouldn't be stupid enough to threaten someone and not expect to get arrested anyway.
but he didn't say he was going to kill anyone, he said he had a dream about it
and he didn't offend anyone except the CREATIVE WRITING teacher.
i mean, you cant be a creative writing teacher and not expect to read some weird shit, just like you cant be a bad teacher and not expect someone to call you out on it on a free-writing assignment.
